Appearance
The product is classified into solid type and liquid type. The solid type is white crystal powder or particle, some slightly mixed with yellowish-green crystal; the liquid type is light yellow transparent solution.
Product Properties
Solid sodium chlorite is white alkaline crystal powder or particle, some slightly mixed with yellowish-green crystal, a little moisture absorptive. It is easily soluble in water and alcohol. Powdery sodium chlorite is stable at room temperature and in normal storage conditions, stability larger than sodium hypochlorite while smaller than sodium chlorate. Heated above 170℃, the solid and alkaline solution will dissociate into sodium chlorate and sodium hypochlorite. With acid, it easily dissociates, releasing chlorine dioxide gas. When contact, impact or friction with wood shavings, organic matters or reductive materials, it easily explodes or combusts and becomes toxic!

Product Purpose
It is mainly applied to make chlorine dioxide, bleaching fiber, fabric, oil and pulp, as well as metallic surface treatment and water sterilization.
Package and Mark
Solid sodium chlorite for industrial use is packed with metal bucket lined with plastic bag, each bucket net weighted 50kg. Liquid sodium chlorite is packed with PVC plastic bucket, each bucket net weighted 25kg. Package and weight may be customized according to user demands. The package should be clearly labeled with mark covering manufacturer name, address, product name, trademark, net weight, batch No. or production date, standard number and symbol of "oxidizing agent".
Transportation & Storage
Sodium chlorite for industrial use must not be transported with acid or reductive materials; it must be stored at cool and dry place far from fire source and heat source, and not be stored with acid or reductive materials. In case of fire, fight the fire with water, sand or various fire extinguishers.
Toxicity and Preventive Measures
Powdery sodium chlorite stimulates respiratory tract, mucosa, eyes and skin. Eyes or skin accidentally splashed with the solution must be washed with water immediately. If taken by mistake, you must immediately drink saline solution or warm soapy water to vomit the material and seek treatment in hospital. 10g may be fatal.
